About Dr. Dupée

Dr. Suzanne Dupée is a triple-board certified child, adolescent and forensic psychiatrist practicing in Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles County, Southern California.  She specializes in a wide range of psychiatric services for children, adolescents, adults and families.

 Dr. Dupée graduated from the University of Queensland in Australia.  She practiced in Melbourne, Australia in the ER and General Practice before moving to Los Angeles to specialize as a psychiatrist.  She completed her general psychiatric residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.  She furthered her training by studying Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego.  She then moved to New York City to complete a Forensic Psychiatric Fellowship at New York University.

Dr. Dupée has been in private practice in Los Angeles since 2002.  Her practice includes treating children, adolescents and adults for medication management.  She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, Anxiety and other psychiatric conditions in children, adolescents and adults.

Dr. Dupée has an active forensic psychiatric practice specializing in family law, criminal law, dependency law, civil litigation and disability.  She has been designated as an expert in Federal Court, Family Court, Criminal Court, Dependency Court, Juvenile Delinquency and Civil Court in California, Arizona & New York states.  She is an expert for several Los Angeles Superior Court panels:  Criminal, Child Custody Evaluator, Dependency Court and Juvenile Delinquency.  Dr. Dupée has testified over 150 times in various courtrooms and has been deposed over 80 times.  She has worked on high profile cases and death penalty cases.  Dr. Dupée specializes in forensic evaluations of families in crisis.  She has completed hundreds of Child Custody Evaluations and all forms of psychiatric evaluations for families in crisis.

Dr. Dupée is invited to speak to at presentations and trainings for mental health and legal professionals.  Her Manhattan Beach office is located one block from the beach and one block from the pier in beautiful Manhattan Beach, CA.  Her office provides a warm, comfortable, child-friendly relaxing atmosphere for her patients and evaluees.

She is currently authoring several chapters in the seminal forensic psychiatric textbook, Principles and Practice of Forensic Psychiatry.  Dr. Dupée taught forensic psychiatry trainees at UCLA for over 10 years until the Forensic Psychiatry program ended.  She is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Irvine where she trains forensic psychiatry trainees.

Dr. Dupée worked at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, a Community Psychiatric Clinic in Inglewood for 12 years.  She treated children and adolescents with attentional and behavioral problems, depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, anxiety and trauma exposure.

Dr. Dupée has evaluated over 500 veterans for eligibility for service connection for VA benefits for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other psychiatric disorders related to their military service.

Dr. Dupée is an expert in work- related disability.  She has performed over 1000 evaluations for insurance disability cases, social security, state disability, and federal disability.  She is a medical record reviewer for many large disability insurance providers.

Dr. Dupée provides coparenting therapy for couples navigating their way through divorce.  She is a mediator for custody disputes for families.
